12/31/01 - Phoebe is 25 pounds and has grown taller, although we don't know how tall yet, but she's fitting into things as though her legs are longer. Christmas was fun, Santa came and Phoebe got a Dolly (which she kept trying to convince me to breastfeed), and her stocking was full of colouring stuff and sticker! She was very excited about Santa, and she left out cookies and milk. Other than a slight cold, she's remained healthy although Mommy has not... She's talking in full sentences, has all her teeth, and is a happy kid! :-) There is still some testing to be done if she shows any more signs of prolonged illness, specifically immune function testing and allergy testing. She has mild signs of potential allergies (eczema) but has had no specific reactions to anything we can figure out. She's still nursing so we're hoping to have successfully minimized her allergy risk. Only time will tell.
9/27/01 - At Phoeb's 18 month appointment last week she weighed in at 24 pounds and was 32.5 inches long. She looks good, and has been much more healthy. Pulling her out of daycare seems to have agreed with her. She saw the specialist today who felt pretty comfortable in saying that she didn't seem to have any arthritis. She recommended immune function tests and allergy tests - which is something we've been pushing for all along :-) She's been doing well, however, except for not being a big napper :-( But we're loving our newfound time with her!
8/29/01 - It's been a LOOOONG time since I've updated, and lots has happened. Phoebe is a full-blown toddler! She is 17 months and says TONS and TONS of words, I can't even keep track. She's around 21-23 pounds, we won't know until mid-September for sure, but she's in about the 25%ile for weight these days. She has 12 teeth (molars are FULLY in). She's also a cuddle-bug and loves to give hugs and kisses! The big issue has been her health. Since the last post she's continued to be sick, recurrent fevers, rash etc. In April she had Scarlet Fever, and then began a two week course of fevers that culminated in a temp of 105.7 and a seizure. She had some atypical follow up seizure that caused them to order an EEG, which came back normal. She has continued to have fevers and rashes and generally not be the healthiest kid on the block... they now are working her up for an autoimmune disorder - specifically Lupus and arthritis. Because of all of this we pulled her out of daycare at the beginning of August. She has shown some improvement at home, athough today she spiked another low-grade fever... Mommy's on the night shift, and Daddy gets some stay-at-home time while Mom sleeps. |

3/13/01 - Phoebe had her first post-NICU hospitalization last week. She was in for 5 days with RSV and was having trouble keeping up her own oxygen levels. She required supplemental oxygen and respiratory treatments. The hardest part for her was being cooped up! She was in isolation with another kid with RSV, and was on continuous monitoring... so her wanderlust had to be curbed for the time being. She's VERY happy to be home now, and is doing well. We see the pediatrician for follow up tomorrow. Amazing to believe, but her first birthday is next week!!! We've been at this site for over a year now... We're happy to have those of you who've continued to follow along. |

02/09/01 - Goodness it's been a while since I updated... okay, well at her 9 month (ha ha, she was 10 months) check up she weighed 19 pounds, but since then she had a bad tummy bug and she went down to 18 pounds, which is where she is now. She's got her appetite back, though, and hopefully will gain quickly! She's up to six teeth and is crawling and has even taken some independant steps (has been cruising the furniture like crazy)!!! She had a great time with her first Christmas, where she met one more of her three great-grandma's. In January she spent some time with her Aaronson grandparents, and then we went to Davis to hang out with Uncle Clark, Aunt Lisa and cousins Kilie and Scott.

11/17 - She'll be 8 months in just a few more days!!! Where is the time going?!? She weighs 17 and a half pounds, but i don't know how long she is. She's getting chunky :-) She's sitting completely on her own, I don't even have to be NEAR her. She claps her hands and has even signed back to me a little bit (I've been doing sign language to her since about 4 months)! She eats babyfood really well now. Some of her faves are peaches, applesauce, sweet potatoes and peas. She even likes her rice cereal. She enjoyed her first Halloween, she was Piglet (thanks Grandma, for the ears!), although she mostly helped hand out candy... next year,though!
10/20 - She's seven months!!! She's weighing in at 16 lbs, 6 oz! She's now a solid 45th %-ile for weight! She's just over 26 inches, so a little bit higher percentile for height. She just may HAVE inherited some of the tall genes. She's sitting up on her own now, and spending more time on her tummy, although not looking like crawling is in the near future. No rush, we aren't ready to babyproof the house :-) She's "talking" a lot, and laughing. She loves to be bounced and swung around. She caught her first cold, and an eye infection, but she's such a trooper, hardly fusses at all. Had to take a few days off from daycare though (running a fever, and the eye infection, just wasn't fair to her to take her).
9/20 - one day before her 6 month birthday Phoebe has cut her first tooth!!! We had very little idea that it was coming so soon. Just yesterday I was feeling her gums and they felt a little harder. This morning she cut it. Poor little pookie was in a lot of pain, thank goodness for baby Tylenol!
9/18 - Week before last we started Phoebe on cereal. She seemed SO ready... she was watching us eat, and chomping her little mouth. But when we really got to doing it, she wasn't so sure. I though for sure when we added something else (carrots) she'd REALLY go for it. But it turned out to be torturous, so we backed off. Now she only gets a little bit in a lot of breastmilk and takes it in a bottle. We have to get her used to the spoon now... maybe that was the whole problem! She's almost 6 months, and weighing closer to 15 pounds now, although we don't have an exact weight. She hasn't gotten much longer lately, so the growth seems to be slowing down. Pretty normal. She's started daycare. She seems to like it. The best thing for me, though is to go to pick her up after a day of work and have her throw her arms out and give me a huge grin, and grab me around the neck and bury her face in my shoulder. I love my little girl!!! |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8/2 - At her appointment today, Phoebe weighed 13 lbs, 4 oz, and was 25 inches long, about 40th %ile, her HEAD, however was in the 95th %ile!!! She inherited her Daddy's noggin!!! Other than that she's developmentally correct, she's rolling over, grabbing things with two hands, "talking", and doing "mini-pushups" with her arms. She did have to have more shots though... poor little sweetie! AND she's starting to almost sleep through the night!!! :-)
7/5 - a new weight check has Phoebe at just over 12 pounds (wasn't exact, sorry)!!! MAJOR growth spurt!
6/27 - we did a random weight check, and she's 10 lbs, 13 oz. 23 inches long too! She's getting big! She's also getting fun, she's learning how to play!!! Check out her 3 month page to see her playing! For the first time in her little life she's outgrowing things - time to start wearing the 3-6 month clothes, right on time! :-)

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5/23 - Phoebe is weighing in close to 9 lbs, don't know exactly, but was 8 and a half a week and a half ago, so she might even be over 9 lbs! She also had her first vacation this past weekend! We went to Cabo San Lucas and she did great! Hardly fussed at all the entire four days. She did well on the train and the airplane and in the heat and everything. We had a great R&R vacation, not something we are used to doing :-) We've also moved Phoebe into her crib in her own room... she's been in the bassinet in our room until now. She's adjusting, and so is Mommy.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5/3 - Phoebe's 1st immuniztions were today (she didn't like them but did okay). She has colic too. That's been since late last week. Her weight was up to 7 lbs, 6 oz, and her length is 21 in.
4/27 - Phoebe's weight has been steadily increasing, as of last Friday it was 6 lbs, 8 oz! She's GOT to be approaching 7 lbs rapidly!!! She's eating well, and has been off the silly pumping/bottlefeeding for a few weeks, and takes the breast like a pro! She goes back to the doctor next Wednesday for her first immunizations.
4/4 - Her weight is up (5 lb, 10 oz)!!! But she's still not back to birthweight (at 2 weeks old), so we have to have Amanda pumping and feeding the excess, and feeding every 2-3 hours, whenever Phoebe indicates, or we have to wake her to do it. We're hoping that in a week or so, she'll get enough energy to take all of her feeds at the breast.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3/30 - Phoebe's weight is still 5 lb, 4 oz, so we go to a strict feeding schedule. We also now need to see a lactation consultant, cause she's not emptying at the breast. Turns out that's not uncommon for babies who have had their growth restricted in the womb.
3/27 - We've seen the pediatrician. Phoebe is still anemic, but on iron drops. Her weight has dropped to 5 lb, 4 oz, but that's pretty normal. We need to come back in for another weight check on Thursday, though.
3/24 - Phoebe's home from the NICU. What a relief. Now what do we do with her? (Just kidding) She's an angel!!!
2/2 - We have new ultrasounds! They're in 3D! These are the results of the 1/26 session, but I just received them from Helene... Check it out!!! Helene says she looks like me... I guess it's in the chubby cheeks :-) Click here to see them...
