Review - Mitchell Shadlow “One of These Days”

album on ABC through EMI

It has taken Mitchell Shadlow ten years to get to this point in his career - the debut LP. But in that time he has had the help of some big names in Australian country music: the late Stan Coster, and the great Slim Dusty both gave Mitchell his first breaks, but the names on and behind “One of These Days”, on ABC through EMI, are testament to a 24-year old who is going to be bigger than anyone could imagine.

“One of These Days” has all the hallmarks of an international success: Framed, Cool Cow Cafe, Big Decision, the title track, and a cover of the old Stanglers hit One Perfect Day that is much more than a success as a country cross-over: a decidedly American sound from this singer/songwriter of Singleton who is already “at the head of the pack”.

Saying this just put more pressure on, but Mitchell Shadlow is the next big thing in Country music.
