July 18th 4:30 pm We have agreed to meet with the Company and a Federal Mediator to try to work out the differences. We will meet at 6:00 PM tonight (Thursday) and don't plan on quitting until we either work out an agreement or talks break down completely. Therefore we have agreed to reinstate the rolling 24 hour contract extentions. This will continue unless talks break down again. AS OF NOW, THERE WILL BE NO STRIKE FRIDAY MORNING. Please keep looking for updates as time goes on. In Solidarity, The Worker's Committee |

July 18th The committee met with the company at 10:30 am this morning (July 18th). We cancelled the 24 hr. extension at that time. The company has indicated they wish to take the plant over running. We informed them we would expect their representatives to relieve the represented employees so they can vacate the plant at 10:30 am. The company indicated they were willing to talk to us today regarding clarification on their proposed package, or their intent around the issues in the package, but did not intend to make any changes in the proposal. We left the meeting telling the company if they wished to talk to us they can call. At this time we're working on details around the pickets for Friday at 10:30 am. Anyone on their day off may come to the hall tomorrow morning at 8am to help get the initial pickets established. In Solidarity Leon Royer Conoco Group Chairman Conoco Workers Strike ( KPLC article) |
