01/05/06: The union membership met today and discussed the 4x10 - Hour Schedule for mechanical. The overall response to this issue was that the company was wrong in their decision to stop the work schedule from starting as agreed upon. Although, it was voted upon to continue with and accept the current offer from the company to allow the mechanical department to begin the new schedule on January 30, 2006. 12/27/05: Special meeting to be held on January 6, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. at the Union Hall. The only issue to be discussed at this meeting will be the Mechanical and Warehouse 4x10 - Hour Schedule. The Company wants to postpone the start of this schedule until January 30, 2006. Every question will be answered until there are no more questions. Be there and participate! 12/22/05: New information has come to our attention. We will not be starting 4-10's as of 1/1/06. Management has decided that the time is not right (at this time) to roll out the new schedule. We will meet to discuss this in the very near future. It appears that the regular 8 hour schedule could be the norm for the month of January. Stay tuned in with us on this change. The current vote will be held to decide whether or not the mechanical department would like to change their shift from the current shift of 5 - 8 hour days to the proposed 4 - 10 hour shifts per week. The vote will be held on November 3rd, 2005. 11/04/05: The VOTE has passed to accept working 4-10's for the Mechanical group. |
