First graders join as Tiger Cubs. Tigers Cubs require an adult partner.
All others will join as Cub Scouts, in their age appropriate rank:
Second Grade = Wolf
Third Grade = Bear
Fourth Grade = Webelos 1
Fifth Grade = Webelos 2
A parent must sign the registration form and pay dues.
You must Be Prepared to have fun!
The 2003 will be $30 for each boy. This includes a subscription to Boys' Life magazine.
Adult Application: Pack 160 pays for adult leaders' fees.
Uniforms: Cub Scouts buy their own uniform, including Council patch and Pack numerals. The Pack provides rank badges.
Tiger Cubs have an orange t-shirt. Wolf and Bear Cubs use the blue Cub Scout uniform. Webelos can choose whether to wear blue Cub Scout uniform or tan Boy Scout uniform shirt.
Uniforms and patches can be purchased at the Council office in Des Moines or at Ames Outdoor Gear located at 4723 W. Lincolnway. Contrary to the official policy, Pack 160 accepts any clean and neat pants with the uniform shirt.
Handbooks: Pack 160 provides Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos handbooks. We recommend that parents read the books for their child's age group cover to cover.
