RE-REGISTRATION
At the beginning of the school year, all returning scouts and parents need to re-register.
The cost will be set by the Leadership, in 2002-2003 was
- $30 Tiger Cubs
- $40 Wolf, Bear, First year Webelos
- $20 Second year Webelos
- $7 Adult Leaders
At least 2 adults from each den need to be registered. All adults are encouraged to register.
The pack will pay for any adult who holds a leadership position in the Pack or in the Den.
Last year the secretary and treasurer arranged the re-registration which worked really well.
The awards person took care of the goodies. There is no need to assign a Den to this task.
Before the first pack meeting
- Go to the Round Table to get the information about re-registration (treasurer) There is a packet that is handed out at the Round Table
- Update the Pack Roster (secretary)
- Print the Roster overview per Den with place to check of who paid and how they paid (secretary)
- Notify the Pack about the dues and when they will be collected. (secretary)
- Buy goodies at the scout store (tiger shirts and books as well as books for the
older ranks)
At the pack meeting (typically the first and the second pack meeting)
Last year, re-registration took place before the pack meeting and also during the
pack meeting, then Dens were called to go outside one at a time and deal with the paperwork
- Have a table outside where the parents walk by before entering the MUR, have 2 people
working (especially before the pack meeting).
- Have the awards person sell the goodies (this is an extra service to save people
a trip to the scout store)
- Find the sheet for the Den and check if the information is still correct
- If there are new members (scouts or parents) or if the information has changed,
give them a new form to fill out.
- Have them write a check made out to pack405 for the total
- Check the Name of the sheet and write down the amount and how they paid
- If there are any new tigers the pack will provide the book to them.
- Bring envelope for the forms and another one for the money
After the pack meeting
- See who of the list of scouts has not paid his dues and and find out if they
are continuing
- Some scouts will need to be reminded that they still need to pay their dues.
- Check if there are at least 2 adults from each pack that are registered
After the re-registration
- The secretary and the treasurer figure out what the final list is for the council.
The council will send a list of all the cub scouts and parents that it has in it’s
administration. The changes need to be passed on to the council.
- The secretary updates the pack roster
- The Treasurer cashes the individual checks and will write one check to the council
- Get an updated roster from the council and double check this with the pack roster.
