The Cub Scout Program and the steps of advancement are listed on this page.

Pack 419 leadership has several vacancies this year as many of the Den Leaders and Committee members have moved on from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.  Words can not describe the joy I have felt being part of my son's developement and participating in the growth of the boys in my den.  I strongly urge you to step forward and participate.  These are years you can never go back and do again, and believe me, they are worth doing now!  Contact your Den Leaders for details.
Advancement Plan

TIGER CUBS
Tiger Cubs BSA is a fun and exciting introductory program of the Boy Scouts of America for first-grade boys (or those who are 7 years old) and adult family members.  As we discover the world around us and build strong family bonds, we impart some of the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America to him - ideals such as personal fitness, reverence for God, love of country and caring for others.

Bobcat
The Bobcat rank is for all boys who join the Cub Scouting program in the 2nd grade (or older).  It teaches our basic duty to obey the laws of Scouting, learning the Scout Motto and Scout Promise, displaying the Scout Sign, and giving the Scout Handshake.

Wolf
The Wolf program is for boys who have completed 1st grade (or are 8 years old).  To earn the Wolf badge, a boy must pass 12 achievements involving simple physical and mental skills.

Bear
The Bear rank is for boys who have complete 2nd grade (or age 9).  There are 24 Bear achievements in 4 different catagories.  The Cub Scout must complete 12 of these to earn the Bear badge.  These requirements are somewhat more difficult and challenging than those of Wolf rank.

Webelos
This program is for boys who have completed the 3rd grade (or are age 10).  A boy may begin working on the Webelos badge as soon as he joins a Webelos den.  This is the first step in his transition from the Cub Scouting pack, to a Boy Scout troop.  As he completes the requirements found in the Webelos Scout Book, he will work on activity badges, attend meetings led by adults, and become familiar with the Boy Scout requirements - all leading to the Arrow of Light award.  This is the highest award available in the Cub Scout program.

Recognition is important for young boys.  The Cub Scout advancement plan provides fun for the boys, gives them a sense of personal achievement as they earn badges, and strengthens family understanding as adult family members work with the boys on advancement projects.
