| A note to the Parents: The Committee of Pack 419 has decided to promote the activities involving our Pack and boost the excitement of Scouting by maintaining a web presence on the Internet. Our site will provide valuable information as to schedule times, upcoming events and past events that we participated in as well as other general information. These pages are hosted by a free internet provider [GeoCities], and as such, our pages are subdomains to the oocities.com parent domain and have not been tagged with Meta Data. What this means is that our pages are virtually "hidden" to Internet search engines, thus reducing (but not eliminating) the ability of someone from seeing our web pages who has no direct knowledge of our web addresses. Example, a person could enter search criteria such as "Pack 419" or other references to Scouting on a search engine such as Yahoo or Google, and our web pages will NOT show up as found links. People who navigate to our site do so after being provided with the specific URL to our web pages, such as yourselves and friends & family of other Pack 419 scouts. We are aware that as loving parents, you may be concerned that information published in our web content may place your child at some type of risk to the devient element that unfortunately exists in our society. In fact, we share your concern as it is also our children who are members of Pack 419. To maintain the highest degree of safety, please know that we will never publish any information intended to place our boys in harms way. However, as we update our pages over time, there may be photographs of our Scout events or named references to members of Pack 419 on our web pages. Each update will have safety concerns in mind and privacy will be treated as our utmost priority. .
