Boy Scout Troop 540 History
The above photo was taken around 1948.  Some of the scouts in this photo have not been identified, but we do have the majority identified.  The scouts standing left to right are Mike Spear, Junior Duggins, Herman Stevens, Siggie Smith, Cantey Johnson, Charles Tucker, Bubba Price, Charles Williams, Billy Beach and David Edelman.  The scouts kneeling left to right are unknown, Arthur Mashburn, unknown, Allen Weeks, Josh Wall, Dean Sharpe, Herbert Collins, and Jimmy Brown. 
Another Messenger picture.  The caption read; Five scouts of Madison Troop 40 where promoted in ceremonies Friday evening in ceremonies at Patterson Memorial Hall.  They are left to right Bo Rodenbough 2nd class, Gary Akers 2nd class, Chris Rodenbough terderfoot, John Ledbetter 2nd class, and Robby Robertson 2nd class.  Shown on the second row are Guy Barnes Assistant Scoutmaster and Bill Dean Scoutmaster.  Thanks to Gary Akers for an e-mail on July 26th 2001 with this information.  This ceremony was held at the Presbyterian Church between 1967 and 1969.  He also identified Scoutmaster Bill Dean in the photo to the right.
This photo was found in the archives of the Madison Messenger.  It was taken in 1968 of Pack & Troop 40 marching in a parade.  The Boy Scouts are in front with the cubs behind.  They are marching in front of Ray Funeral Home in Madison on Market street.  The leader in front is Bill Dean.
