My Angel Stories
It was a beautiful Fall day, my husband and I had just started our First business. A retail store in Dallas. It was an outlet store, just like the one my father owned in Arkansas. It was Labor day weekend and the shopping center we were in was having a big celebration. Clowns, real reindeer, mines, hayrides, it was a carnival atmosphere. Business was great for our grand opening. Clowns and mimes were going from store to store making animal balloons for the kids and doing little clown tricks. I had decided to be the cashier for the day so I could greet all who entered the store personally.
My dad had been down here to help us with our grand opening, but he wasn't feeling well so he return to Arkansas, where he was scheduled for bypass surgery in a couple of weeks I was disappointed he couldn't be here, because this store was more his dream for us than our dream for us. He just wanted us to enjoy the same success he had been enjoying with his store in Arkansas.
As I sat on a bar stool at the front counter of our store watching the clowns and mimes stroll in and out, watching the delight on the children’s faces as each clown approached them, this truly was a joyous day I thought. Then an elderly man entered the store. I remember thinking our sweet and endearing he looked. It was as though he almost glowed with happiness.
He didn't walk through the store though; he walked straight over to the counter where I was sitting watching the day’s events.
When he spoke it was almost like his voice was music it was so sweet and kind and gentle. He ask me if I ever read books, I excitedly responded with "Oh I love to read, It's one of my favorite things to do. I haven't had much time lately to read though with the store and all." He ask me if I believed in God. I quickly responded with an excited "Yes of course I do!"
This elderly gentleman placed paperback book in my hand and ask me if I had ever heard of the author. I wasn't familiar with her work though. He said he would give me this book, if I promised him I would read it. I looked at the book, it was about angels, so not even hesitating I said of course I would love to read it!. Then in a very serious tone, the man said I had to make him one promise. I looked at him with somewhat of a puzzling look, then said ok. He ask me to promise him, that after I read the book, I would give the book to someone else. So without hesitating I agreed. I thought that was a great way to share the joy of reading! Looking at the book, I was kind of excited about reading the book now!. When I looked back up the man was gone! the entire front of our store was glass windows so I was looking out the windows to see where he had gone, I wanted my husband to meet him. He was nowhere in sight. I called to my husband and my daughter that was in the back room getting merchandise ready to be put on the floor and told them to come up front. I show them the book and told them the story of the man. We all just kind of stood there in a daze trying to figure out what had just happened!
My daughter took a look at the book and immediately knew of it, though she hadn't read it yet. She said she had heard about that book and had wanted to read it. So I said why don't you read it then and when you are though with it I will read it.. She happily agreed.
The book stayed at our store, my daughter would read it when we were slow. She was still in school so she was only there a few times a week, and then for only a short while. Needless to say she didn't get to read the book right away. The store being so new there was always so much to do when there were no customers in the store.
The following week we were very busy at the store we barely had time to do all the work that needed to be done. My older sister had come to help us that week because we were so swamped with customers it was almost overwhelming. I was glad she was there to help. She was also in the process of moving here from a town five hours away! So we helped each other as much as possible.
We finally got through those first few weeks, by then it was time for my father to have his surgery. He insisted that we not come up there because of all the work with the new store. He really wanted us to be successful at the store. My children, being the sweethearts that they are, insisted they would help their dad take care of the store if I wanted to go and be with thier papaw.
My father’s surgery was scheduled for Tuesday the 19ht of September. My mother’s birthday was Sunday the 17th of September. She lived in Arkansas with my youngest sister and her daughter. They all worked at my dads store there. My mom and dad had been divorced since I was in 5th grade, but they had remained very good friends. I called my oldest sister on Friday night and told her I was going to go to Arkansas to surprise mom on her birthday and be with daddy for his surgery. I asked her if she wanted to go with me, my kids and husband could take care of her two children for the weekend. She was excited about surprising mom and getting to be with dad for his surgery. So we decided to leave late Saturday night and be there for mom’s birthday Sunday morning.
That night my husband and I decided to retire early get rested for the next days work and my trip to Arkansas. My husband had gone to sleep almost immediately, while I on the other hand was watching television in our room. While lying next to my husband and watching the news a messenger came into the room. The messenger pass through me, and then through my husband just as the messenger was passing through my husband, he sat straight up in bed and said " It's not here" the messenger then passed through our room and out of the house. I immediately yelled to my sister in the other room and ask if she saw it ! By this time my husband awoke in a sitting position and wondering aloud “ why am I sitting up ?” I told them both what had just happened. The messenger belongs to someone that was still alive I knew this instinctively as it passed through me. My sister and husband did not think that was possible (for it to belong to someone still living) but I knew it did. I could feel the life in it.
The following day my sister and I got ready for our trip to Arkansas. We did
not leave until about 8:00 pm because we had talked to our Mom on the phone so
she would not get suspicious about us coming up there. We wanted to surprise
her for her birthday! After a couple of hours on the road my car started acting
funny. The lights on the inside of the car would turn on and off by themselves.
Then after another couple of hours the radio and the buzzer for the safety
belts started coming on and going off, and after another couple of hours they
all started coming on and off and would not stop. My sister was really
frightened by this time. I told her it was just someone trying to tell us something,
but she was really afraid. So I took the next exit and stopped at a gas station
we both got out of the car and stood there watching the lights and buzzers and
the radio still going on and off. I said aloud " Please Leave My Car !!!!
And DO NOT COME BACK" All of a sudden everything stopped! I said we know you are trying to tell
us something but we do not understand!! Please Leave.!!!
The car ran fine after that and we were not bothered again. This was my
sister’s first experience with anything like this and it scared her. I have had
several messengers come to me through out my lifetime, although at the time,
this was the most unusual. I have
had other experiences since that one, I will tell you about them at another
time.
My message to you is that we all share the ability to hear messages God wants us to hear. But, our minds have become so busy and cluttered with noise, it is often times difficult for us to listen. Free up your mind occasionally and listen to what you are being told. Set asade some time each day for a moment of silence. This is when you will hear what you need to hear.
