The Election: from the right

Every other year the people of this country have the power to over throw our government by voting. Sadly, it will shock me if even 40% vote this year.
People do not vote for a variety of reasons; most notably they are too lazy. Little issues like: taxes, war, and governmental racism are trivial to these people. To vote, after all, takes time, and I am sure that would be impossible to work into their schedules.
If you are one of the minority of Americans who may care about issues and have respect for those who did little things for you to have the right to vote, like die in war or be mauled to death by police dogs, I beg you to continue reading. If you find it difficult to vote I have little sympathy for you, may you move to China and have a prosperous life picking rice.
Still there? Good. The voters of Michigan go to the polls to vote for Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, a Senator, a Representative in the House, and state House and Senate members. I could go down a list of a few reasons why you should vote Republican, in fact, I think I will.
The Republican Party is the only party committed to ensuring that the people of this state are seen as equals in our schools. As of now, the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor campus views blacks and Latinos differently than whites and Asians. It is commendable to increase minority enrollment within our schools, but a racist policy that views one race differently than another is wrong. Minority numbers could be increased by allowing admission to the top 10% of graduating seniors, such as the case in Florida.
The Democrats reject this because they believe a poor white boy from a broken family is still 'The Man' and already is a few rungs ahead of his peers with whom he has graduated. I just wish those that espouse this claptrap would come and tell the poor whites of Flint, for instance, how well off they are.
I do not mean to be hostile to a multicultural campus, but saying one person is better off than another, without taking into account his or her social condition is, well, racist. Why should the state consider all black and Latino high school graduates unable to get into college without a helping hand? Is that not racist as well?
The Republican Party is the only party that can see this for what it is, as the Democrats and their gubernatorial (candidate for governor) nominee divide people on this issue for votes, Republicans are devoted to unite and uplift all.
A war with Iraq has been a hotly contested issue in the past few months. If there ever was a reason to be tuned into politics this is it. If you have been following the debate you would know that Senator Carl Levin (D-UN) is running for reelection.
Though he has been in the Senate longer then most students here have been alive, he believes a state's power to defend itself belongs to the will of the United Nation ambassador of Mauritius or China. Strikingly he seems more interested in protecting the UN than his constituents. Fortunately, you have the power to end this madness by voting Republican for Senate and House.
On the federal level, Republicans are committed to keeping tax cuts in place that were passed last year. Taxes do not only come from the rich, taxes come from nearly everyone. It was the Republican Congress that moved millions off the tax rolls by moving the minimum level higher, now for their families instead of the government.
The Republican Party is the only party committed to ridding the earth of al-Qaeda and the Iraqi regime. The Iraqis have been shooting at our airmen for 11 years and stalling impotent UN inspectors as it perfects its biological and nuclear weapons.
Democrats like Carl Levin wish for us to wait for more proof. Proof may lie in a nuke being detonated on Pennsylvania Avenue by al-Qaeda armed with a weapon, or technical assistance, from Iraq. We have been in a war with Iraq since 1991 and the Republican Party is the only party determined to end it.
A vote for the Republican candidate next month is a vote for radical change. Republicans wish to end racism in our schools by implementing an acceptance program that takes into account an applicant's social status and class standing, not race. Thus finally bringing an end to the hate the Democrats believe in because they can only see the world in black and white terms.
Republicans wish to lead the world in dealing decisively with terrorists, whether they are in a cave or in a million dollar palace. Finally, Republicans wish to end the class warfare the Democrats believe in. When a Democrat says the "rich need to pay their fair share" just remember that the top 5% of the income tax bracket pay close to 50% of the taxes.
It is time America comes together and brings stability to world affairs, ends racial baiting and class warfare. On Nov. 5, be patriotic, cast your ballot, and vote Republican.
