Stupid white liberals

The patron saint of the Left, Michael Moore, has a best seller on his hands, Stupid White Men, and Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation. With his increased publicity, he has shown just how crazy the Left can he when left to their own reverie. I admire Moore, he is the 'local boy makes good" story, but more than that, I admire his cajones, as Madeline Albright would say.
Moore posseses an innate ability to say what few liberals mean to say but cowardly shy away from saying. On his website, www.michaelmoore.com, he wrote, "When you (President Bush) send our kids to go fight and die on a foreign land so that you can finally build a pipeline for your oil backers across that country. THAT is un-American!" Oh, so that is why American men and women are dying in Afghanistan. What a coincidence that al Qaeda members killed 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001.
On that note, a few weeks ago Democratic Senator Tom Daschle spoke at a press conference to reaffirm his support of the war, and then he said he had to question the course of the war. This convoluted statement leaves much in the way of understanding his meaning. What Daschle undoubtedly is trying to do is plant seeds of doubt in the minds of Americans, so in November the Democrats can campaign not against the war, but against Bush and the war.
I am not sure if Daschle believes Bush wants a pipeline through Afghanistan or not, but he is maneuvering himself, and the party, to a position to criticize any future front of the war, and even for the Democrats to declare the war a failure if bin Laden or Muhammad Omar are not caught or killed.
Let us not forget the most devastating thing to hit our country in years: Tax Cuts! The fright that liberals have over people keeping more money instead of giving it to the government would be humorous if they did not believe their own rhetoric.
Here, once again, is Moore's take on Bush and tax cuts, "When you use the dead of September 11 to try to get huge tax cuts passed that will only benefit your rich benefactors, THAT is un-American." I seem to remember that the tax cut was passed in May and if my Gregorian calendar is the same one Moore is using September 11 follows May. But the liberals see every defeat for them, not as a political setback, but as a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy to send America back to the glory days of 1859. The Liberals believe that the only way the Republicans can win elections or policy debates if they lie, cheat and steal (more on this later).
Moore also opines how Bush should have resigned in disgrace for "allowing" Enron to "enron" their employees, and having former Enron executives work in his administration. Moore and the Left have failed to explain how Bush "allowed" this to happen. Where were they when Clinton fired the White House Travel Office to bring in Arkansas cronies, or the former lawyers from the very distinguished Rose Law Firm that worked in the administration?
I wish the Republicans would not use the phrase "It's time to move on" when talking about Election 2000. The facts are on Bush's side, yet to fail to prove this, the Republican leave this issue open to the Left. Moore is not shy about Bush. The "president" as he calls him, did everything hut shoot Gore supporters in Florida, although Donna Brazile, Gore's campaign manager, said police with dogs protected voter boxes from Gore supporters. Although Brazile is not white, in the spirit of inclusion I am sure she would not mind being mentioned here.
Black Disenfranchisement: Florida Secretary of State Katharine Harris was ordered by the state legislature to eliminate felons, who are ineligible to vote, from the roles of voters. For reasons not to shocking, the Democrats attract the felon vote overwhelmingly. Moore and the Left contend that Harris, Bush's campaign chairwoman, instructed the database company to remove those with an 80% name or social security number match from the eligible voters, in the processes, lists were used that should not have been, and eight thousand names were wrongly removed from the eligible voter lists.
Therefore, here is a question never answered: Do black people have similar names? If they do not, then the mere fact of similarities would affect all voters.
Although it is a tragedy that there were those wrongly turned away on Election Day but was Harris using "black sounding" names? That is the only explanation of the Left's absurd attack. The Left said Harris should have stepped aside and not certified the election vote count, but they would have been just peachy about her replacement, a Gore supporter, stepping in. Although the Bush v.Gore decision restored sanity to an insane process, the majority opinion should have not been focused on the "due process" clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, but should have focused on Article II.
That Article gives the process of selecting Electors sole power to the legislature of the state. Under Florida law, the state Supreme Court had no power to delay the deadline of counting ballots twice. And the court had no power to dictate how ballots were to be counted. Under -Florida law the Secretary of State has sole power to change the deadline only if voter fraud or mechanical error were involved. Voter error and the Butterfly Ballot do not count. -
Moore wonders where Jimmy Carter is at when you need him to oversee an election. His statements are funny, but he is the mouthpiece of the entire Democratic Party on this issue since September 11. That is because the Left has come to believe that if they say anything about Bush directly they will be labeled un-American. The Right has been voracious on Bush about Campaign Finance Reform and his lack of fight over judicable nominees. Yet the Left says they are muzzled.
The Evil Bush Empire is the rallying cry for the Left. They use an off the cuff remark by White House spokesman An Fleischer six months ago to create a self-imposed rule of not criticizing the government, and then use that as an example of Bush's draconian rule. The problem with most of the Left, including Moore, is that they say loony stuff like "The war is about oil!" when this war is about everything but oil.
We may have to assume the Left does not know what they say in the first place. When Moore visited the campus on Mar. 13, I asked him about his statement on the war being waged for a pipeline. His responded with, "I said that?" I told him it was on his web site, then he quickly postulated his hypothesis that bin-Laden, with his kidney dialysis needs, may be dead.
Moore is just lucky Bill O'Reilly did not ask him that question on The Factor when he was there a couple of weeks ago, with its No Spin Zone, O'Reilly would have made him more con fused than he was. Later in Moore's presentation he compared Jesus Christ to Karl Marx, in saying how just one person can change the world. I am sure when he heard this Christ would have spun over in his grave if he had not risen from it.
At least at times Moore is quick to criticize the Left, pointing out more jobs in Flint were lost under Clinton than Reagan and Bush, for instance. He was one of a few voices out of the Left to say Clinton waited till his last days in office before changing the arsenic standards, this when the Democrats were running ads directed towards Bush with a little girl asking. "Can I have some arsenic in my water, pleazzzze?" Moore's humor is enjoyable if not puzzling.
The party out of power always scores victories because of the opposition, Moore should at least thank Bush for helping his hook become #1 in the country; even Rush Limbaugh thanked Clinton when his book reached #1. But Moore believes his book is number one because, as he puts it, "This country is overwhelming liberal and progressive." There are many people between New York City and Flint who do not go to his book signings. I could write an entire book myself on the Looney Left, only if I could think of a title...
