Rachael Kvapil is a budding Fairbanks artist working on her first novel. After several years reporting in Valdez and Fairbanks followed freelancing articles about Alaska's art acene, Rachael began work on "A Wired Nation," a series of science fiction stories told by various characters living in America in 2085.
Previously Rachael has published several poems in literary journals such a Supralurid, Poetry Explosion Newsletter, Poetry Motel, Writopia, and Vision & Voices E-Zine. She also published a short story in the online journal The Sidewalk's End.
Rachael loves writing and dancing. She also recently took up knitting and dabbles in programming languages from time to time. In 2005 she sold her first painting and has since presented a collection of visual works during a First Friday at the Alaska Public Lands facility in downtown Fairbanks. She has recently been invited to participate in a show about using art for emotional healing.
She earned the nickname K-Vap from a Reddott Production manager Ox.
