Internet Declension GameThis game is a great way for you to brush up on all the declensions (or as many as you know/want to practice)! All you have to do is...
- Log onto the internet and go to http://www.xena.ad/lcf/latin/ave.htm
- Read ave discipuli box on the right -- English language.
- Click go on!
- Type your name, then click accipe.
- Click explica for instructions on how to play. If you click quaere, you will see all the forms for words of different declensions -- in European order, not American (Nom., Voc., Acc., Gen., Dat., Abl.).
- Chose speed by clicking down arrow next to lente:
Lente = slowly
Tardius = pretty slowly
Rapide = fast - Then click down arrow next to first declension and click on the declension(s) of your choice.
- Then click on incipiamus (Let's begin!)
- The Sphinx box will appear. A word will be displayed in the top box as in a dictionary entry. Then you will be asked to type a specific form of that word (e.g., dative plural). Type the correct form into the box to the left of the word accipe. Then click accipe.
- On the right side of the screen, words of praise like bene or praeclare will appear if your answer is correct. If it is wrong, your error will be noted, and the correct answer will be displayed.
- HAVE FUN!
