| Outdoors, Andy is an explorer and discoverer, catching leopard frogs with his hands, and lightning bugs with a jar. Indoors, he likes to bake peanut butter cookies with his mom (after washing his hands of course!) He also helps out his little sister Amanda, teaching her some science facts he learned at the neighborhood park. |

| What came first, the story or the picture? |
| Rosa can never seem to tame her curly hair, and that's just the way she likes it. Her friends describe her as hip and chill. She usually gets along with everyone she meets. Being an animal lover, she has many pets: a hamster, a dog, two cats, a few goldfish, and an iguana named Tiki. |
| Bea |
| Bea is short for Beatrice. She is spotted on her bike at least 5 times a week. She's just about to put on her bike helmet here, of course! Bea is spunky & active, but she always stops to smell the flowers. She is very talkative and likes to make people laugh or smile with her stories and jokes. Left to herself, she shares her thoughts and writes poetry in her diary. |

| Jeff is very good at all sports but his favorite to play is baseball. He practices at the park with his dad. Sometimes he hits a homerun. He enjoys being in school, especially math class, where he is learning geometry. And, he has a sweet tooth for the goodies his grandma bakes every time he visits her. |
| Ben |
| Ben is always doing something creative. In the fall he carves pumpkins, in the winter he builds snowmen, in the summer he crafts sandcastles, in the spring he makes mudpies. He loves to draw, especially animals or action heroes. His favorite food to eat with family & friends is pepperoni pizza. |

| Ellen is pretty quiet, but very smart. She reads books as often as she can. Her favorite stories are of princesses or pets. She loves life & family, and helps her parents out when they need her. She is the best friend to tell a secret to. Who does she tell her secrets to? Only her pet dog Kia. |

| Amy jumps in puddles, she jumps in leaves, & she jumps in bed at the end of the day. She is a busy little outdoorsy girl. Her favorite sports are tennis & soccer. Besides that, she is a sweetie and works for good grades, especially in English. |
