| Digital Mixed Media I hand-draw my final line with pencil. I use Adobe PhotoShop to add color and texture. Mixed media means that I used different materials to create the illustration. Different textures I digitally utilize to add interest include scanned fabrics and digital photos. Using my library of textures, I digitally "cut" and "paste" the textures into the shapes of the illustration and assemble them into the drawing. |

| In the case of my Conspicuous Chameleon, I bought special art papers that I decided would create a nice look for the environment I drew the chameleons in. The papers have a unique texture to them and I scanned them in to the computer to be able to create the illustration digitally. For my Fantastic Fluttering Fish, the textures of each element I created out of acrylic paint. For this type of digital mixed media, I plan what patterns I want to use for each part of the illustration, and I have fun painting up these colors and textures by hand before I digitally cut and paste them into the drawing. |
