NAME- The Society , a non-profit making organisation, shall be knowing as "Paisley & District Budgerigar Society" OBJECTS:- (a) To encourage the advancement and breeding of the budgerigar by means of lectures, Discussions,Practical Demonstrerions and Exhibitions. (b) To encourage members of the society to keep their Budgerigars in conditions which are conducive to the health and well beuing of the birds. 1 ADMINISTRATION:- The society may appoint one or more Honorary Presidents and one or more Honorary Vice-Presidents. The committee of management shall consist of President, Vice- President, Secretary,Treasurer.The President and vice- president shall retire each year, but shall be eligible for re-election . The secretary and Treasurer shall retire each year,but shall be eligible for re-election .in the event of a vacancy occurring during the currant year the committee shall have the power to fill any vacancy at the next meeting of the society after the occurrence of yhe vacancy. The new member shall serve the remainder of the period of the retired member, but shall be eligible for re-electio. The committee shall meet at such times as the president and secretary deem necessary and shall have the power to co-opt other members for special purposes. QUORUM:- shall be no less tham five (5) paid-up members. 2 MEMBERSHIP:-Applictions for membership may be made to the secretary or treasurer,for submission to the committee, snd the committee shall consider such applictions and in their absolute discretion accept or reject any application without assigning a reason. All members accept to be costractually bound by the rules and constitution of the society. ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS:- To be determined by the members at the annual general meeting and all subscriptions shall be due from the date of the a.g.m each year and must be paid by the 31st january.Members who do not renew their subscriptions in any full year will lose their right to continuous membership and be required to rejoin. Upon receipt in writing of any complaint that conduct of a member is likely to be prejudicial to the interests of the society , the committee shall investigate such complaint and shall give such member an opportunity of stating his or her case . If two thirds of its members present so decide, the committee shall be enpowered to request such member to resign and his or her name shall be removed from the society's register forthwith. 3 AGM:- A balance sheet shall be made available to every member on the register. The financial year of the society shall end 14 days prior to the a.g.m and the a.g.m of the society shall be held in november each year at which: a) The members shall appoint office bearers and committee for the ensuing year. b) The statement of accounts and auditors report for the period from the preceding statment of accounts will be given. c) Two auditors of the society shall be appointed. d) Consideration will be given to any proposal submitted for thr alteratio of the constitution or rules of the society. Any such propsal must be in writing and reach the secretary 14 days priop to the a.g.m. e) Any other competent buiness. . 4 GENERAL:-Due notice shall be given each year to the members detailing the regular place of the meetings and time of the meetings of the society. Any change of date,time or place shall be notified to the members . Meetings of the society for any special purpose shall be held in such places and at such times as the committee of managment may determine, notice of the time and place being given to each member of the register. a) In the event of the society disbanding all assets including monies,staging,trophies and any other property of the society shall be handed over to the sbs to be (stored for 18 mounths in case the society is started back up ) if not then used towards the good of the hobby in scotland EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETINGS :- May be called by the committee upon written request by not less than four paid-up members. All exhibitions shall be held under B S rules. All matters not herein provided for shall be dealt with at the discretion of the committee whose decision will be final. |
