ABOUT ENROLLING: Once a potential applicant contacts their local Job Corps Admission's Office (either directly or through a referral agency), an admission's counselor will schedule an interview to meet with the student to ensure their eligibility and explain all the benefits that Job Corps can offer a student as well as what is to be expected of the student in return. (For example, among other enrollment paperwork, a student will sign a form agreeing to comply with Job Corps' Zero Tolerance for Drugs and Violence Policy. If eligiblity is approved, the counselor will generally assign the student to the nearest Job Corps training center which offers the training in which he or she is interested. (see the Job Corps' Regional Website link below to learn about different training centers) Once all the paperwork is completed and the applicant is assigned to a specific training center, travel arrangements are made so that the Job Corps student arrives safely to begin their training. The admission's process may take from 2-8 weeks. |
