I shuffled the cards once more and laid three on the table. I flipped all three faces up: an ace of swords, the four of cups, and the queen of pentacles, all right sides up. I felt that the cards were joking. I asked a while ago if we were to win in tomorrow’s softball game, it disagreed. Then, I asked if the other team’s going to win, the cards said no. Then, I tried to ask if we are to lose in the game, the cards showed three right sides up cards; it was a yes. And this time, I asked if the other team’s going to lose, and it said yes. Okay, so my tarot cards were a little off lately. Disregarding the reading I made last night of the cards, I went to my PE class, under the clouded sky. I wondered what will happen, to lose or to win. Where were we heading? After the first inning, the other team had the advantage of three points. Just when I felt my team’s hopes down, the rain poured. The professor had to cancel the class—even the standing of the game. Wow. |
