could practice her Mardi Gras strut. With Lacey's
final approval we put music on and off she went. We had a time trying to keep up with her, today she was out for older men. The first man she stopped was an
Argus parade official, she wanted a picture with him. He was a good sport, and let us get her picture
and told her how beautiful she was. That was a big mistake! After that, she was stopping all good looking men. She had to have a picture with some young soldiers because they were
dressed in camouflage. She wasn't too nice when Miss Louisiana
wanted to get a picture with all of us. She was worried that Miss LA. not being as pretty as us, would ruin our picture. She made friends with some band members
and when they started to march and play "When the Saints go marching in" she was out front leading the parade.
I had to run three blocks to catch her and by then she had hundreds of people following her "Second line" waving their hankies and dancing in the street. I caught her just in time,
a policeman wanted to haul her in for disrupting the parade. I'm sure glad we didn't go to the French Quarters, no telling what she would have tried to do.
Dean said he was not mad with her and was glad she enjoyed her first Mardi Gras,
butttttt we had better head for home.
She promptly fell asleep so we are going to have a strong drink and say
GOOD BYE to Mardi Gras 2000!
