what people have said of HKTV for Youth
    Dear prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
We have watched all of the Kurma videos that you sent to us. My boys were very tickled to see "Kermit" with a sikha, kurta, neckbeads, and beadbag. The voice is really really good!
There is one part where the camera shows a picture of Mother Yasoda looking in Krsna's mouth, and then it zooms in on a dot that turns into a picture what is in Krsnas mouth, and then zooms in again, and so on. My kids really thought that was interesting, and my 4 year old, Jacksen, seemed to make a connection from it that he hadn't made before. He could see how she actually saw all of that within His mouth and how we are just one tiny part of a huge cosmic manifestation. You could see the understanding come over him while we were watching the show and telling him what it was trying to say. It was inspiring to see him realize it. Very nicely done.
The interviews with various devotees obviously held Kevin's interest, my 9 year old, much more than Jacksen's, but he did manage to watch almost all of it. I am curious if you know a lot of children who have watched some of these shows, or is it more adults? Jacksen asked me if there are any other cartoons or any puppet shows or anything, and I told him I would ask.
It would be nice to have some, but I also want him to be able to sit through something that isn't all music and funny talking, so he can see that simply talking about Krsna and being a devotee can be good too. After all, he is getting old enough to be able to do that. I believe Srila Prabhupada said that by age 5 a child should be able to sit in on a Bhagavatam class, and these videos are good practice for that. I say that because these videos are more fun and lively than your usual Bhagavatam class wihtout a doubt, but they are not as visually stimulating as a cartoon or other children shows.
Thank you very much and please keep me updated with anything interesting!
    Hare Krsna
