There have been

visitors to these pages since it's debut.

I normally place links like this on another page. But because of the season I'm going to put this here, even before the usual introductory drivel.

Attention all knitters and crocheters! I know we're getting into the busy part of the year, making items as gifts for friends and family. But please take a moment to look at the following items. The first one is Warm Up America; all they're asking is for a 7 inch by 9 inch piece. We can do that, can't we? The second website I'd like to direct your attention to is Project Linus, an organization that gives handmade blankets to victims of trauma. Come on, take a look. You know you want to.

I've also, after getting read the riot act by my doctor, have decided to lose weight. He has a point. I now weigh what I weighed when I was 9 months pregnant (and my child is almost 3.) I've also had my dosage of high blood pressure medicine tripled in the last year and a half. My weight loss to date:

Now, I will return you to your regularly scheduled website. (Bad joke. Live with it.) OK, here we go again. I've been doing some major tinkering, although you really can't tell that much yet. However, you will find some pretty interesting stuff here I'm adding some things, I'm taking away some things, I'm moving some things around . . . you know, general chaos! So please bear with me as I fix the broken links (like that guestbook!) and get things up and running again. (And yes, I am actually currently working on these pages, though the changes may not be immediate or immediately recognizable. I beg your patience with me.) In the meantime, feel free to explore, as I have found some new and exciting stuff, and if you notice any broken links, you may certainly let me know. You can also let me know what you think of these pages. And yes, the guestbook is working again! Thanks to those of you who let me know that it wasn't working.

Let's face it, though. Opening pages are boring. No one really ever wants to read an opening page. Opening pages are just jumping pages to other stuff. So I've decided to do just that: make this a jumping page to my other stuff. At least until I find something better to do with it. So, here goes.

In order to make it easier to find, I've decided to move the "serious" stuff (which, you may remember, included just about everything from religion to men's and women's issues) so that they can all be accessible from one page. Are you curious about what I consider serious?

In addition, I've moved the fun stuff so that they can all be linked from one page as well.

If you really want to know, you can find something about me. You can browse through my journal should the desire strike you.

You can also check out the pages of a friend and coworker of mine

As you might guess about someone with a degree in English, one of my biggest interests is poetry. I enjoy a wide variety of poets, from Frost to Rilke to Sexton to...well, to find out more about this, go here now. This one is majorly under construction, but it does have working links now!

Here are some of my favorite links!

If you like, you can sign my guestbook then view your entry. OK, that's all from the Insomnia Queen for the moment.
