Simple Desires

A love that stands, so pure and strong,
A love that lasts, a lifetime long.

A smile that's bright, and oh, so cheery,
A smile to change, my days from dreary.

Eyes of faith, candid and sincere,
Those that share, a feeling dear.

A heart of truth, to help mine mend,
A river of love, that has no end.

A voice that's kind, a voice so tender,
Gentle and sweet, and peace, it will render.

A touch of warmth, a hint of desire,
A touch of passion, to revive the fire.

A hint of mystery, a trace of surprise,
Not for deceiving, nor a disguise.

Honest emotions, a passion for truth,
A zeal for innocence, once had in our youth.

Reverence for the simple, not formed of gold,
A passion for visions, that two hearts can mold.

These things I seek, in my endless quest,
In search of true love, while fate does the rest?
