In Silent Awe

I stood there, in my silence,
While time, I saw unfold,
The fire of life, an instant,
The past, was ashes, cold.

In awe, I watched in wonder,
As time just passed me by,
The chances past, forgotten,
The angel’s, lonely cry.

To feel the heat of passion,
A quest, a lost desire,
Nothing stood there, in my way,
But, yet there was no fire.

Reflections, of those days gone by,
As time rolled swiftly on,
The days I spent, so lonely,
And now my chance, is gone.

Just one more chance, is all I ask,
For love to pass my way,
Just one single, ray of hope,
Just one more fleeting day.

If love shall find, my empty heart,
And give it life, again,
I’d hold it close, and oh so tight,
And pray, it wouldn’t end.

I know that love is out there,
Waiting patiently,
But is it fear, or loneliness,
Or, am I just too blind to see?
