An Ode to Yesterday

The innocence of youth is gone,
Those days have long been passed.
A time when life was full of hope,
When thoughts of the morrow were last.

A time when life was full of news,
And the Olds had yet been seen.
The future brighter than the sun,
And as close as the grass of green.

We walked along, fearing naught,
Nothing could dim our dreams,
There was no force so ample,
It could dam our endless schemes.

We all look back from time to time,
And wonder what we would change,
If life could e’er be so simple again,
Or just what could we, rearrange.
