Hall of Mirrors

The Hall of Mirrors is perhaps the grandest room in the castle. The rounded shape of the room combined with the mirrors filling each wall gives the illusion of a never-ending expanse of rooms. The gilded wood-carvings feature rococo shells, cherubs holding lamps and swirling garlands, while hanging from the ceiling is a massive crystal chandelier that was specially created in Vienna. Above the doors are paintings showing court life at Versailles and the painted ceiling features "The Birth of Venus".
