We went to Bayfield, WI this weekend, Friday Dec8-Sunday 10 for a Wassail Dinner.
My sister and her friend and their husbands were with us. This is just a little picture of the "event".
Here is the home page for THE RITTENHOUSE INN . There are actually 5 buildings now that make up
"the Inn". The Wassail dinner IS HERE at the main inn, a fabulous Victorian Bed and Breakfast.
You can take a virtual tour of all of the buildings and each of the rooms.
We stayed in the Silver Nail ROOM 2.

This is what our guest house looked like when we left early Friday morning, still dark.

Just past the Mackinac Bridge, connecting the lower penninsula of
Michigan to the upper pennisula is the fabulous stretch of Lake Michigan
beach. It was a beautiful day and we had to photograph the snow dunes that are
forming from the waves of the lake.

It was such a beautiful day on Lake Michigan

This is an old railroad tressle which is now a snowmobile trail.

This is near the front entrance of the Inn. The stairs go up to the fabulous bedroom suites,
all with jacuzzi and fireplaces, very romantic. The entire Inn was decorated in a Gingerbread
theme throughout, just for Beverly.

The mantle over the fireplace in the first dining room.

Gingy Boys and Girls hung in each and every window.

This exquisite display of the chandelier was in the main dining room.

This decoration was over the wide, sliding pocket door from the main dining room to the entrance hall
where the huge Christmas tree stood. The tree stood up alongside the stair case, two stories tall
and was of the Concolor variety. This variety of tree will last until they take it down
AFTER their St. Patrick's Day party.

This was the mantle over the fireplace in the middle dining room.

Not only were gingerbread boys hanging in the windows, the sills were
also decorated with greens, strings of popcorn and more gingerbread.

A friend of the innkeepers wife made several cross stitched angel
pictures throughout the main part of the inn. They were truly gorgeous.

This is the table where we had our dinner.
The photograph was taken after we had had our breakfast, so the linens
and fancy silver wasn't set out yet for dinner.

The tree is alongside the staircase and goes up two stories. They cut
off one side of the tree so it just snuggles in the passage way.

This is me and my little sister.

And with us is her friend, Sue.

This is Jerry, the innkeeper, leader of the chorus, playing the tambourine.
The gentleman in front is Tom, Sue's husband.

This is all of us ready for dinner. From the left is Sue. me, Tom, Dean,
my sister, Jo, and her husband, Gordy.

This is the gingerbread decorated chandelier in the third (back)dining room where we had
our dinner. The mantle in this room also had decorations of greens and gingerbread people.
