Introduction

Cornelius Fuller was found in the 1788 tax lists of Upper Smithfield Twp, Northampton Co, Pennsylvania, along with his son Eli Fuller. He was deceased by 1790, when his widow appears in the 1790 Federal census in that same place with Eli next door. In the 1800 census, Eli, Ira and Johiel Fuller were living in Upper Smithfield Twp. which was then located in Wayne Co, Pa. All three moved across the river to Sussex Co., NJ, in the early 1800s. Eli and Ira died in Sussex Co., while Johiel moved to Guernsey Co, Ohio.

Could this Cornelius Fuller be the same as the Cornelius Fuller who was in the Dutchess County, NY, militia in 1758 aged 19 (and so, born ca 1739)? If so, was he a son of Cornelius Fuller and wife Patience Chappel of Colchester, CT, as Fuller genealogists have suggested? Supposedly, this Cornelius Fuller (Sr) died around 1790 in Dutchess Co, NY.

I have set up this website not only so that others can connect to their Fuller roots, but also to see if we can go backwards from Cornelius Fuller to his ancestry. Much of my research was done 10 to 20 years ago when I had more time on my hands. Fortunately, my research has been enriched by other genealogists, and I hope I give them recognition herein. If I have neglected to give someone his/her due, please let me know.
