LEGEND OF THE CANDY CANE

Legend tells us that a candy maker wanted to share the meaning of Christmas with the people of his town.  So he cooked up an idea for a new kind of candy that would tell people what this holiday is really all about.      The candy maker started with candy that was white-standing for Jesus, who was pure and never made a mistake.  The candy maker added red stripes-because Jesus loved us so much that He died so we can live forever in heaven if we believe in Him.  The candy maker shaped the candy like a shepherd's staff-because Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and if we do what He wants us to do, He will take good care of us, just like a shepherd takes care of his sheep.      So when you eat a candy cane, remember that Jesus loves you.  That is the best Christmas gift of all.
