CATS QUIETLY WAIT
Red-breasted robins and blue jays,
Working with their mates,
To build their summer homes.
As the noisy woodpecker,
Pecks out a tune,
On the telephone pole.
Big grey mockingbirds,
Flying from tree to tree,
Mimicking all the other birds.
Squirrels scampering,
Upon the house tops,
And climbing the oak trees.
While on the ground,
Cats quietly wait,
For a mistake,
So they will have a meal.

I wrote this while visiting my friend in Texas.  I was sitting at the dining table and watching the birds, squirrels and cats playing in the morning sunlight.
I was impressed how that the animals in nature can live together much more peacefully at times than we as humans do.
