Descendant lists of my Pilgrim ancestors are listed below starting with my gr-gr-gr-grandfather Charles Pilgrim, followed by my gr-gr-grandfather Robert A. Pilgrim and his younger brothers George and William.

Charles PILGRIM - Father of Robert Alfred and George PILGRIM

Many thanks to the late Vernon Pilgrim of Norwich, England and his son Bob (my 8th cousin) of S.Australia for providing me with my missing links to England.

Charles, born in 1795 in Old Buckenham, Norfolk, is recorded in the 1821 Census of Old Buckenham as a bricklayer. His wife Ann was believed to have originated in Norfolk  Mr. V. Pilgrim had traced Charles' ancestry back a further eight generations to Gyles PYLGRYME (abt 1535-1589) and Margaret THEYNE of Attleborough, Norfolk

It appears that Charles immigrated to Canada with his family sometime after the death of his wife Ann.  My early Canadian references to Charles Pilgrim are all in Montreal:

• Charles Jr refuses to pay Ann debts per Montreal Transcript and Commercial Advertiser, Dec.19, 1844; 
• Elizabeth Pilgrim, dau. of Charles, married Patrick Caufield in Montreal Feb 1849 (Drouin V51F);
• Charles, 20yrs, m Ann McNutt (per Dave Pilgrim email June 01 - to be verified)

Descendants of Robert Alfred PILGRIM (my great-great grandfather)

Soda Water manufacturer in Hamilton, Ontarion. Born in 1827 in Norfolk, England (For many years we were led to believe that he was from Bury St.Edmunds, Suffolk ). He emigrated to Canada in the late 1840s. He married Anna Brydges of Beeston(?), Norfolk, sometime around 1848. By 1852, he was living in Hamilton, Ontario. He died suddenly 'on the trains' on a return trip from Winnipeg to St.Paul, Minnesota, around 30 July 1882.

Descendants of George Pilgrim

George was born in 1832 in Norfolk, England. He was listed in the 1867 Hamilton City directory as a driver for Pilgrim & Co. He married Mary Sexton on 12 May 1874, Wentworth County. He was found drowned in Burlington Bay, Hamilton, Ontario, on 15 June 1877.

          Descendants of William Pilgrim

 In June 2001, Dave Pilgrim of New Zealand sent me an email with some interesting information.  He mentioned that his ancestor, William, had left Canada and fought in the Civil War.  According the William's Civil War records, he stated 'that he had come from Lincolnshire and mothers name was Elizabeth.  He was only about 3 when he immigrated so may have gotten a few things mixed up'. He had also found in his research in Montreal 'a 20 yr-old Charles getting married to an Ann McNutt.'  Unfortunately I lost track of Dave and have not been able to verify his information yet...
