Lastly came another band from London, Soul Less Divine. They are brutal
death metal with elements of grindcore and raw black metal but not
enough to annoy me. I've seen these guys a few times before and I
usually can't get into them but last night they won me over. They had a
great live sound with good presence. The songs have been stepped up
quite a bit. I think this band would fit right in with the scene up in
Montreal. Hopefully since I believe these guys are signed they can
break through but they won't appeal to alot just because of there style.

...A last-minute change of events saw the last two bands trading gig slots
with each other. This probably benefited London, Ontarios own Soul Less Divine,
who continued the vicious onslaught of quick dark grindcore with songs such as
"Atrocity" and "Blissful Confrontation Of Christ," with its Dave Mustaine-style
chord changes. Some of the song titles were longer than the songs themselves,
most notably "Bloodiest Desecration," with a sweeping guitar riff that made
Meshuggah look like Coldplay (turn your back to drink your beer for a second and
the song is over). "Massacre Of Mass Creation" was reminiscent of
pre-"Individual Thought Patterns"-era Death, especially during the melodic
guitar parts. Chuck Schuldiner would either like this band or threaten to sue
them for copyright infringement for lifting one of their riffs in that song
because the style of playing is almost identical. And their cover of Morbid
Angels "Day Of Suffering" was stellar! and closed their performance perfectly...
