DOS Greek driver for Deskjet printers includes Euro sign.
DOSPCL.COM version 1.0
This driver allows HP Deskjet printers to print Greek characters under "true" DOS. Works with all PCs, even old 8088, 8086, 80286-based machines.
It also includes the Euro character as character 238.
Character-mode printscreens with Greek are handled, as in normal DOS.
This software is free. Distribute freely. If you like it (or don't!) please tell me about it at pdallasgr@yahoo.co.uk
TO USE:
-------
1. Unzip file dospcl1.zip , to obtain file DOSPCL.COM. Note: To unzip this file, you need either PKZIP for DOS (get free, from http://www.pkware.com) or WinZip (get free, from http://www.winzip.com).
2. To run program DOSPCL.COM, type DOSPCL and press the Enter key.
3. You can now use all Greek DOS applications (e.g. WordStar, EasyWriter, PW) and print in Greek.
NOTES:
------
1. DOSPCL only works in "true" DOS. Does not work in a Windows 95/98/NT etc. "DOS box". If you are using Windows 95/98, you need to "Restart your computer in DOS mode" to use DOSPCL.
2. Other, older DOS printer drivers may stop DOSPCL from working. Check your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, and remove any such printer drivers (e.g. FX100, PRN851, PRN437, GRAPHICS, GRAFTABL).
3. DOSPCL May not work with documents with special formatting (e.g. subscripts, superscripts, bold etc). If DOSPCL gives you problems, remove such special formatting.
Later versions of DOSPCL may solve this problem.
3. This version has been tested with an HP Deskjet 940c and an HP Deskjet Portable. It should work with all Deskjet printers, as it uses the simplest (no compression) graphics mode.
4, This version is a little slow. A faster version (which will use graphics compression) should be ready by November 2002.
5. DOSPCL does not handle DOS graphics-mode printscreens, and some escape sequences. A future version may handle these, if you want them please let me know.
