The Outer Banks and North Carolina
We spent about a week in the outer banks, and really enjoyed it. We had a great bit of luck when we got to see the Wright Flyer being tested at the Wright Brothers Memorial. We and about 50 other people got to see the best flight it made. From the outer banks we continued on across Roanoke Island and down the North Carolina coast.

Our day on the beach at Oregon Inlet. It was perfect kite flying weather!

sunset
We parked close enough we could sit in the motorhome and watch them trying for a second flight. They made one good flight that day but then could not get the engine restarted.

Sunset over the marshes on Roanoke Island.
Lunch at a waterfront cafe, Beaufort N.C. I had about the best scallop po-boy sandwhich!
