Chapter 9
I woke to darkness. The pain & emptiness surrounded me. And then as if someone had turned on a light, I could see. I was in a white room. There was nothing in it & I was sitting on the floor. Nothing, no door, no furniture, no people, no anything & I didn’t like it. I tried to stand, but sharp pains prevented me from doing so. I saw movement within a few minutes of me being in the room. He turned to see a teenage girl. She was very beautiful with long brown hair, green eyes, and a tan complexion.

“Who are you?” he asked.

“My name is Amelia, I know who you are Howard.”

“How do you know my name?”

“I know everything about you. I am one of your guardian angels. I’ve watched you grow up. I saw the first time you cried, the first time you got sick, I saw you grow up, perform in front of thousands of fans, the look in your eyes when you lost your sister, & the look in your eyes when that truck was an instance away from hitting the van. The things I have seen throughout your life are some of the most precious moments I have seen.”

“Why am I here? What do you want?

“You are here because you have a choice to make. You are given a choice because of your pure heart, the kindness & generosity you have shown to others, & the pain you have gone through in your lifetime. All I want is an answer.”
“What kind of choice?”

“You can leave everything behind, end your pain, your suffering, and your loss to come with me to heaven, or you can your continue your life on earth a beaten, broken, & bruised man suffering until you are chosen to die.”

“What?”
