| "Well now it looks like you boys have already had your share of hard work," Kara said with a smile as she pulled her backpack out of the van. "They had to push the van from the main entrance, all the way down here," said Luke the driver of their van "It broke down as soon as we turned." With that everyone, but the boys were laughing. "Luke, pop the hood & let me have a look," Kara said as she handed Howie her backpack. After a minite she interupted the converstion. "Oh Luke, Did you know the van was out of gas?" The boys gave Kara a wierd look as they went to cheak it out themselves. Sure enough when they tried to start the van the needle was pointing to empty & the gaslight was on. They all gave Luke a very hateful glance. Randy the driver of the other van took Luke to get some gas While the others thought of a way to get their mind off of everything. "Come on boys, lets go cheak out the campsites Kevin purchased," Denise said. They went walking & soon came across the mess hall. They went inside. In the main room there were a lot of tables & chairs. It had a kitchen with a stove, oven, refrigerator, sink, microwave, table, & food storage shelves. The mess hall also had an AC. The place wasn't half-bad. The counselors continued to the campsites seeing they had their work cut out for them. Things needed to be cleaned, replaced, & repainted. The boys decided that the five campsites would have the names Dorough, Littrell, Richardson, McLean,& Carter. They soon went to see if the vans were ready to take them down to the campsite they would be staying at. The boys gave it the name Outer Darkness seeing it had no electricity & it was 2 miles from the other sites. There were 5 cabins with 2 beds a piece. Sleeping arangments were made as everyone unpacked. Soon night fell & Kara brought around lanterns so everyone could see. Soon they had all gone to bed knowing that the next day the real work began. |
