| Chapter 7 |
| (Darviant’s View) The two weeks have gone by quickly & I look back at my life. It was al a waste. I did not know my father’s decision, but I hoped I would live. I hope Vavranta does too. Now we are sitting on the beach watching the waves crash the shore. The court was to be here tomorrow. I held Vavranta. “Vavranta,” “Yes Darviant.” “No matter what happens tomorrow you know I love you.” “Of course I do.” “I want you to promise me something.” “What?” “If we make it out of here alive, will you marry me?” “Yes.” We kissed. I never wanted the sun to set, but when it did our fathers’ called us to bed. We went in, but we couldn’t sleep. When dawn crept through our window we got up, but no one was there. We waited for anyone to come home. Soon we saw Kristen pull up into the driveway. She was crying. “Kristen what happened?” I asked. “Your fathers accepted the offer. They will be with them for the next year.” Vavranta & I went upstairs & thought about our future & our fathers. Overall we were happy to be alive. |
