Chapter 10 |
(Howie’s View) I started going upstairs when Kara started running down them. I caught her. “Daddy, put me down!” se demanded as she tried to get out of my arms. “Not until you promise me you are going to stop running down the steps,” I said. “OK, I promise,” she said. I put her down & she walked down the rest of the stairs & into the living room where my father was watching the news. I walked into my room & made my bed. I walked over to my closet & pulled out the backpack I had packed the night before. I grabbed a baseball cap & walked down the stairs & into the kitchen. I put my backpack into a chair. “Howard, are you sure you want to go out in the public,” my mom asked. “I’ll be OK. If I run into fans I will tell them that I am spending a day with my daughter. They’ll understand.” I told her. Kara popped her head into the kitchen. “Daddy can we leave now,” she asked. “Yes, you have to tell grandma & grandpa goodbye,” She ran to my mother & said goodbye & then disappeared into the living room. “Goodbye Mom,” I said “Goodbye Howard,” she said. Kara was waiting for me in the foyer. We walked out to the car & drove up the road to Disney World. |
