I decided to get some money & check into a hotel. My daughter hadn’t said a word since earlier on today. I was worried about her.

“Kara, are you OK,” I asked her.
“Daddy, what did those men want?”
“They wanted me sweetie, but I am not going to let them have me or you.”

I tried my parent’s house again. My mom picked up the phone.

“Hello,”
“Mom,”
“Howard! Are you & Kara OK?”
“Yes, we’re fine. What is going on?”
“Some men were over at the house today. They demanded to see you. They wanted Kara.”
“What?”
“I had to tell them you went to Disney World because I didn’t want anyone to get hurt. They had Kara’s mother with them.”
“Where is she now?”
“She’s here with us. I don’t want you to come home. It’s to dangerous right now.” I know your cell in case of an emergency.”
“All right mom I love you!”
“Love you to sweetheart, bye,”
“Bye”

I hung up with a little bit more knowledge of what these men wanted. And I won’t let them have it I thought.
