Chapter 4
When Howie woke up from Kara's wails early the next morning he understood why Kara's mother abandoned her & that it was his job to take care of Kara. He quickly got up to attend to her & found out she was hungry.
I've got to get use to these early morning feedings he thought tiredly. Howie quickly fed her. Kara soon fell asleep in the strong arms of her new father. Howie took this peaceful time to look at his new daughter. She had small light, brown curls on her head. When she was awake she had beautiful brown eyes that seemed to smile when she was in someone's arms. Her skin was pale, but Howie guessed that it was because she had lived inside all her life. Police had found birth records for Kara that said she was born on Febuary 26th of that same year making her 3 months old. Howie had learned to love the little infant even though he had only known her for 2 days. He got up, put Kara back in her new playpen (& her bed for the rest of the tour), & retired to his room knowing that in a few short hours someone would come wake him up in a couple of hours.Witin 15 minutes, Howie was fast asleep dreaming about what the future might hold for him & his new daughter.
