Chapter 6 | ||||||||||||
Howie's view) I went into my dressing room to get changed for the show. My daughter Kara sat on the floor, brushing her favorite doll's hair. (I remember buying it for her the last time we were in Paris.) "Hi pumpkin," I said. "Hi Daddy," she replied with a tone that worried me. "Kara are you OK." "Daddy, Why don't I have a Mommy like Little Kevin?" I was shocked at the fact that she had been comparing herself to her cousin. I really didn't know how to answer the question. Since the day I found her outside my hotel suite she had never acted this way. "Kara, you do have a mommy. She just can't be with us right now," I said hoping that the answer would satisfy her. It was the truth after all. I had no clue as to the whereabouts of her mother & she had no idea as to who I was & that I was in Orlando. It would be hard for Kara's mother to find me because we were in Las Vegas when I found Kara. I was the only one who had really been there for my young daughter. Kara was so young when I found her that she doesn't remember what happened & why her mother left her. I can only hope that one-day Kara will have a mother whether it is a woman that I marry or her biological mother. |
