| (Kara’s View) I don’t know what is happening, but I didn’t like it. I remember the last time my parents had run away, I was in danger. I wonder what was going on. All I knew is that my mom had picked Tony & me up from school. She had already gotten the twins & Hannah. I heard an argument from behind me, the twins were at it again. My dad told them to stop. I was suprized that they stopped. It was also weird that my dad was actually walking. The last time I saw him walking was when I was little. I was about 5 or 6 & I was the only one around. My parents hadn’t adopted Tony & my other sisters & brother weren’t born yet. I was very determined to find out what it was. I hate waiting, but who does. We stopped at the store & my mom, Hannah, & Tony went inside. I decided to confront my dad. “Dad, can we step outside so I can talk to you.” “Yes,” he said as we climbed out of the car. “What’s going on dad?” “What do you mean.” “You know exactly what I mean.” “Do you remember when you were little & you met your mom.” “Yes I remember.” “Well there were people that were trying to take you away so they could do experiments on you. At that point in time they allowed me to take your place. Today they came to the house & they wanted to make a trade.” “What kind of trade?” “You & your brothers & sisters for an antidote.” “You didn’t did you?” “I told them you were at school. I didn’t tell them what school or the name of the school. Then I called your mom. They just happened to leave the antidote behind.” “You're smart dad.” “Thanks! Now let’s get back in the van before your mom gets back.” “OK” |
