A Second Chance
Not remembering the date,
She's filled with hate
Cold to the core,
She can't love anymore.
So with this knife
She takes her life
As she fades away
To never live another day
The darkness she does embrace
With a simple smile on her face.
But with a second to spare,
A light breaks through
So bright and true
It calls her to it
Wraps her in its comfort.
Then with her eyes closed shut
She feels the scratchy sheets
Under her resting feet,
She opens her eyes
To nothing to her thats paradise.
As she looks around the white room,
She realizes her fateful doom.
She didn't succeed in her task
so again she's made to wear a mask.
With a look to her side,
she felt an ache inside.
For there on the table sat
Flowers and cards from those who loved her,
Was like a morning dawn
Making her want to carrying on.
Silently thanking that person that walked through the door
After she hit that cold clammy floor.
This was another chance
To be happy and free,
Learn how to dance.
No matter how it hard it would be.
with the love and support from those around
She'll make them proud.
The pain she would endure
Hoping to make it into something more,
So with that determination found
She sat there in what was the unshakeable sound
Nothing but the monitors beep.
So she tried to sleep,
knowing that she could wake up
To get to be able to put her life back together
Her soul so broken
But over time
A true love she would find.
