The Mystic River lighthouse is on a point of land at the mouth of the Mystic River.  Approach is from Fishers Island Sound keeping the lighthouse to port.  The channel zig-zags up the river for about three miles past landmarks such as Abbott's Lobster in the Rough dockside restaurant, the Amtrak railroad bridge and into the village Mystic.  Several marinas line the river.
