The verterans approach

The crowd awaits

The plunge takes place at 12:00 sharp.  The day was comfortable, upper 30's, hazy. Water temp 40.   Low tide made it a long walk to the water.  Some walked slowly in while others dipped and ran out.

Approximately 200 swimmers took the plunge this day.  There were about 3000 spectators there for the annual New Years' plunge.  Each week the veteran club members make their swim at 12:00 noon on Sunday.

Always a character in the crowd - a survival suit
