NSA's History

NSA was founded in 1997 by five taggers. The original five were the three Rowland brothers Midget Al, Yellow Snow, and Deuce. These three came up with the idea of the team and recruited two other great players to join them, Ape and Smokey. The plan was to form a team that would go to a tourney that was supposedly being held in Annapolis, ML.
In time this team changed some. THe arrival of 8ball, Felix, Trekker, and Kerensky formed the original nine players. As the time for the first ECC rolled around and the team NSA had to be split into two. These were NSA and the Starbase Regulators. NSA was formed of Yellow Snow, Felix, Smokey, Midget Al, and 8ball. Trekker, Ape, Kerensky, Deuce, and Warrior formed the Regulators. After the tourney NSA emerged as the champs after defeating the Troglodites i.e. CAVE DWELLERS :). Wolfpack took third place with future NSA members Vlad, Goober, and Stone Cold on their team. The regulators finished fourth being lead by Ape and Deuce in every game.
The next tourney was the NSA Invitational. In this tourney the name ASN was first seen. NSA was still the original five but the other five had changed a lot. Trekker moved to Fredricksburg, APe got banned, and Warrior disappeared. Three players were picked to replace those who had left. Lt. Dan, Vlad, and Goober were picked to join NSA. In the invitational NSA took first with ASN right behind them at second. In the final game ASN gave NSA the hardest game they had ever played which wouldn't be matched again untill the Nationals one year later.
Another tourney was held in March by Planet Trog. NSA only sent one team to this tourney b/c of money and time issues. In this tourney NSA placed second to SHP in the finals. It was a fun tounrey but NSA didn't play like they all knew they could in it. The ECC was then held in Fredricksburg, VA in June of 1998. In this tournament NSA lost the Atlantic Cup championship to Dienesty in the finals after stomping them in the prelims. ASN also played in this tourney and they placed third or fourth depending on who you are arguing with..THIRD. After that tourney we immediatly thought about what we did wrong and knew in our hearts that it would never happen again. In the Nationals we proved once again why NSA is the most dominant team in tag. After a scare by ASN, they beat us in the first game of the tourney, NSA went on a rampage. The team was now Vlad, Yellow Snow, Smokey, Midget Al, and 8ball. Felix was banned so he couldn't attend this touney. ASN had finally formed the team that they wanted. It was composed of Winter Wolf, Peacekeeper, Goober, Deuce, and DJ Nitro. ASN played excellent in the tourney and showed why they were called mirror image. NSA won the Nationals after beating SHP in the red area by a good amount. 4 members of NSA were picked to join the all tourney team, Peacekeeper, Vlad, Smokey, and the great Yellow Snow. After the tourney ASN added Akula to their ranks to replace DJ Nitro who had to go to school.
Soon after Nationals, the East Coast League was formed. NSA lost the first one of these tournaments, finishing the lowest we ever had, third. Shortly after that the second ECLS tourney was held and NSA pulled off a win. After this the ECLS fell apart and hasn't reappeared since.
Next NSA set out to beat the Cavedwellers in their own home Planet Trog. We wrecked house during the second Trog Open and claimed the championship as our own after a hard fought game vs SHP in the finals. The next tournament was held in Fredrick, Maryland. NSA faced a problem in this tourney. Our star player, Yellow Snow, decided to sit this one out. Deuce was picked up to take Jimmi's place. He stepped up, and the team was able to pull off their first win in Maryland. During this time of turmoil NSA changed yet again. 8ball moved on to pursue school and different people to play with. NSA picked up Sakic and Wendigo making the new NSA the strongest ever.
After winning several smaller tournaments, it was time for NSA to reclaim the Atlantic Cup. In the 2000 Atlantic Cup, NSA prepared to take their cup back. Unfortunately Dienasty the reigning champions, decided not to come at the last minute. NSA won back the championship, but didn't have the cup to prove it. After one more tournament the 2001 Atlantic Cup was held in Allentown, Pa. NSA after an early loss to Outkast dominated the tourney and was given their cup back. As of now all NSA are the national champions of actual reality laser tag as well as East Coast Champions yet again, friends first, teamates second, Champions third.
