Fido go Bye Bye?

In their own words PETA wants pets to be no more. They want us to walk through life without the cold nose of our companion animals. Oh NO you say! They arent against cats and dogs as pets- Well read below to see just how much PETA wants you to have your Pets.

In a perfect world, animals would be free to live their lives to the fullest: raising their young, enjoying their native environments, and following their natural instincts. However, domesticated dogs and cats cannot survive "free" in our concrete jungles, so we must take as good care of them as possible. People with the time, money, love, and patience to make a lifetime commitment to an animal can make an enormous difference by adopting from shelters or rescuing animals from a perilous life on the street. But it is also important to stop manufacturing "pets," thereby perpetuating a class of animals forced to rely on humans to survive. Certain dogs bred originally for fighting, like the "pit bull" breeds, can have additional problems. Pit bull terriers were originally bred to fight chained bulls and bears. Today, they are frequently used by drug dealers to guard drugs and money, and in inner-city fighting rings where they often die very violent deaths. Few good homes are open to dogs perceived as overly aggressive. Breed-specific legislation (with a "grandfather clause" for those dogs already in existence) can be an important tool in ending the tragic exploitation of these breeds.

What do you think will happen if we all fixed our dogs and cats?                         In 30 years there would be no more domestic cats and dogs.                                      PETA is not for keeping anything as a pet. Breed Specific Laws? BSL is an invasion of privacy as well as a way of taking Basic Rights and tossing them down the commode. Kiss your Pit Bull Terriers goodbye- No more Shepherds and no more Dobies. And lets not even think about all the WolfDogs out there. Bet your bottom dollar PETA wants them all dead.

When working dogs become too old to work, they may be separated from their human companions and either "retired" with another family (always wondering, no doubt, what they did wrong or where their lifelong human companion went), returned to the training center, or even killed. Optimally, human services for the disabled should be improved rather than relying on the breeding and exploitation of animals.

Mandatory Spaying?

Work within your community to legislate mandatory spaying and neutering. no breeding can be considered "responsible."

Can you say our rights be damned? Oh why not- PETA sure thinks they should be!

Is there an unneutered cat hanging around the back porch? Does your neighbor have an unaltered dog chained up in the yard? Is your coworker giving away a litter of kittens? Provide information on spaying and neutering and ask animal guardians when they plan to have the surgery done. Be persistent. If they make excuses, arrange to have the animals altered yourself.

Arrange to have them altered yourself? As in trespass - steal someone elses property and then vandalise it? That just isnt legal PETA.
