MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

  ·        Family Fiesta. Invitation was extended to Y.Bhg Dato’ to officiate the function. As Y.Bhg Dato’ will be engaged at another function on the same day, he has delegated SGM LLBU, Tuan Hj AMN Aziz in his place.

  ·        Bonus 2002. A letter of request on this matter was submitted where Pekami hope that the management will extend the same bonus reward as that enjoyed by Petronas staff. Y.Bhg Dato’ response was that decision on this issue is the prerogative of the management and it will be discussed in the board meeting on 28 August 2003.

  ·        Climate survey. A copy of the results was also handed to Y.Bhg Dato’ and some of the main points were highlighted during the discussion. In particular, the issue of reward, remuneration and morale were deliberated as to support the contention that we MISC staff are not deprived of the same bonus benefit received by Petronas staff.

  ·        Solat hajat. That BIM in colloboration with Pekami, Sport’s Club and MISC Union will be having a special prayer on 19 August 2003 after Dzuhur prayer. This is for the purpose of maintaining harmonious working condition, good relationship between management and employees and safety of the vessels and workers at all time. That BIM will extend an invitation to Y.Bhg Dato to join in the prayer session.

  ·        Wasiat seminar. That Pekami has arranged for the presentation on the writing of WILL on 13 August 2003 to all MISC staff.

  I take this opportunity to invite all members of Pekami to join in the Family fiesta on Sunday 17 August 2003 at Frim, Kepong and celebrate the 10^th annivesary of Pekami with your loved ones.

  The committee will endeavour its best to ensure that the event will be the most unforgettable and joyous occasion of the year.

  Your support is our strength. We look forward to your active participation in the family fiesta in the spirit of good comradeship and harmony.

  Finally, I hope that all members of Pekami and their families will have an enjoyable outing at this fiesta and do justice to the events and food that have been prepared by the committee.
