This is a pound cake recipe from a Canadian zoo director's wife. She was incharge of the food management for many animals, including tiger cubs! Finches and other softbill birds love it too!
Pekin Cake (no Pekins are injured preparing this recipe) *LOL*
1 1/2 Cups butter, I use unsalted
1 1/2 Cups sugar, I usually mix this with white and brown sugars.
6 eggs
2 Cups flour
1/2 cup soy protein powder, I use Skippio's soy musca protein powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
I added like one cup shredded carrots for Vit. A to the mix......

Mix all ingredients together until well blended. Line a 9x13 pan with wax paper, and dump the mix in.
Bake for about one hour at 350 degrees.
After it is cooled I cut it into 2 inch squares to freeze. I feed about one tablespoon of it per bird per day.
Return Happy cooking!
