Hi folks, glad you could make it, and I hope that you find my pages of some interest.

I'm interested in all rocks and stones etc., and in my spare time I make beautiful gem trees, which I hope to turn into a small business.

My gem trees are bought as presents for loved ones and even for the purchasers own needs. They make beautiful presents for birthdays and anniversaries, and the gems and bases are chosen to suit the recipients birth sign or health or mental state. Most gemstones have a meaning or medicinal cure, and to suit varied needs I can mix the gemstones and bases to suit the individual. Gemstones are not only sought after for monetary value but for their healing powers and also obtained for bringing good fortune. Whatever the reason nothing can compare with the sheer beauty of these stones and rocks.

Jet started life as rotten wood. Over millions of years it has been buried and compressed into a type of coal. From this humble material, all kinds of beautiful objects have been fashioned.

Jewellery has always been worn in remembrance of the dead, but it was not until the British monarch Queen Victoria retired into mourning on the death of Prince Albert, in 1861, that mourning jewellery carved from jet became fashionable. Soon, every family in the land possessed some artefact fashioned from Jet. Whitby as the leading producer, became the centre of excellence for carved jewellery.
